What we can confirm
Code F16, from the manufacturer's own documentation
A code is only meaningful together with the machine showing it — the same digits mean different things on different equipment.
The code
F16
Related to the thermistor codes but reported separately by LG, and in practice it behaves the same way: the oven will not run a cycle it cannot measure. It is worth checking one thing before booking, because it is free — a sensor probe that has been knocked out of its clip and is touching the cavity wall reads the wall rather than the air, and produces exactly this.

What it narrows down to
The oven has rejected its temperature sensor's reading

What else belongs to the ranges
On this make a code belongs to the appliance rather than to a product line. These are the other conditions this machine can display, and the models that can show this one — a display often has more than one thing to say, and the model number decides what any of it costs to put right.
Other codes this appliance can display
The sensor measuring the main oven cavity has gone out of range
The same sensor problem, in the lower cavity
The cavity is not reaching or holding the temperature it was set to
The motorized lock has not reported that it did what it was told
The control and the display are not talking
The fan that moves air around the cavity is not turning
The temperature probe socket is reporting a problem
The steam system's own sensing has failed
The fan that keeps the surrounding cabinet cool has stopped while the oven was at its hottest
The touch controls are reporting a key that is stuck or wet
An induction zone cannot measure its own temperature
Not an error — the glass is above 150°F and the cooktop is saying so

About Range error code F16
What F16 means on this make
Related to the thermistor codes but reported separately by LG, and in practice it behaves the same way: the oven will not run a cycle it cannot measure. It is worth checking one thing before booking, because it is free — a sensor probe that has been knocked out of its clip and is touching the cavity wall reads the wall rather than the air, and produces exactly this.
Where this appears, and why not to clear it
On the appliance's own display. LG reports errors two ways: machines with a digital display show a code, and the laundry machines without one blink their indicator lights instead. Both are published by the maker and both are on this site. Photograph what the panel shows before cutting the power. On a refrigerator you can also force the last code back onto the display by holding Freezer Temperature and Express Frz together for three seconds — LG documents that, and it is the one thing that makes a first visit more useful. A code that has been reset is information a technician no longer has.
What to do about it
- Look at the probe on the back wall of the cavity. It should stand clear, not touch metal.
- Press CLEAR/OFF and try again.
- Cut the breaker for thirty seconds.
- Book it if it returns.
Where this goes next
The job this usually becomes is diagnostic visit, and that page carries a starting figure and the reasons that move it. If it turns out to be nothing — and on this make a real share of these are modes, reminders and settings rather than problems — the visit ends there and you pay the diagnostic and nothing else, or call (305) 419-0291 and describe what the panel is doing before booking anything.
