LG washer door lock repair
dE, dE1 or dE2 on the display, or a door that will not open at the end of a cycle. The interlock is behind the front panel and it is a stocked part. Before it is replaced, the door itself gets checked — a door that has dropped presents a perfectly good latch to a frame it no longer lines up with.

How this visit actually goes
The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.

01
Release it safely
Power off at the wall for five minutes. Forcing a locked door breaks the frame, not the latch.
-
02
Check the alignment
The door against the frame, all the way round. A visible droop is the finding.
-
03
Test the interlock
Measured rather than replaced on suspicion.
-
04
Replace and re-test the chain
The machine should refuse to fill with the door ajar afterwards.
-
05
Confirm which machine
dE1, dE2 and dE3 on a SideKick are the drawer, its lock and its lid — not a door at all.

Front load · top load · WashTower · WashCombo · SideKick pedestal LG washer repair in Miami
The laundry side of this badge is the busiest on the site, and LG sells more shapes of it than anyone: front load, top load with no agitator, the WashTower with both machines behind one control panel, the all-in-one WashCombo that washes and dries in one drum, and the SideKick pedestal washer that lives under the main machine. Two hundred and twenty-two laundry machines in the catalog between washers and dryers. LG publishes a separate code list for each shape, and the codes do not all mean the same thing across them.
- Front load, top load, WashTower, WashCombo and the SideKick pedestal
- Around twenty published codes, and a blinking-light set for machines with no display
- Direct Drive motors: fewer parts to fail, and a different failure when they do

About LG washer door lock repair
Getting the door open today
A locked drum with wet laundry in it is the urgent half of this problem, and there is a way in. Cut the power at the plug or the breaker, wait a minute, then open the small panel at the bottom right and drain the machine through the hose behind it. The lock will not release while the machine believes there is water inside, and emptying it is what changes its mind on most of these. If the drum is empty and it still will not open, leave it alone — the handle and the inner door panel are what break when a locked door is pulled. Then the door itself gets checked against its frame.

Questions about LG washer door lock repair
Why does it lock at all?
Because a front loader fills above the bottom of the glass and spins at a speed where an open door would be dangerous. It is also why the lock is a stocked part on this make rather than something exotic.
It locks and unlocks over and over at the start of a cycle.
That is the machine failing its own check and retrying, which points at the switch inside the lock rather than the catch. Do not keep restarting it; each attempt is another cycle on the part that is already struggling.
