LG heat pump dryer service

A ventless machine has no duct and no element. It has a refrigerant loop, a condenser block, a lint system with two filters instead of one, and a condensate circuit that has to get rid of a liter or two of water per load. All of that is maintenance that a vented dryer never needed, and neglecting it is what stops these machines.

How this visit actually goes

The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.

  1. 01

Empty and check the water path

Container or drain hose. A full container stops the machine by design.

  2. 02

    Clean the condenser block

It slides out of the base and rinses. It is the single most neglected part on these.

  3. 03

    Clean both lint filters

There are two, and the second one is behind the first.

  4. 04

    Test the loop

A machine that runs and never warms is a sealed-system diagnosis rather than a heater one.

  5. 05

    Verify a full drying cycle

These machines dry more slowly by design. The test is a finished load, not a warm drum.

    LG dryer repair in Miami

Sixty-eight dryers in the catalog, in three quite different kinds: vented electric, vented gas, and the ventless heat pump machines that condense the water into a drawer instead of pushing it outside. That last group changes what a repair is — there is no duct to blame, and the two things that fail are the condenser block and the drain the water leaves by. LG publishes codes for all of it, including the thermistor set tE1 to tE6 and the drn/OE pair that only exists on a machine with a water container.

    • Vented electric, vented gas, and ventless heat pump machines
    • tE1–tE6 thermistors, nP at the heater, drn/OE on the condensate drain
    • On vented machines the duct is the first suspect and usually the answer

About LG heat pump dryer service

The maintenance nobody mentioned at delivery

A vented dryer had one lint screen and a duct somebody else worried about. This machine has a screen in the door, a second finer filter beneath it, a condenser block behind a hatch at the bottom, and a tray or a pump that has to get rid of a couple of quarts of water out of every load. The first filter wants clearing every load, the second every few loads, and the condenser every couple of months with a rinse rather than a brush. Skip it and the machine does not break: it slows, gently, until a load takes twice as long, and then it stops and reports the condensate path with drn.

Questions about LG heat pump dryer service

Mine dries more slowly than my old dryer. Is that a problem?

A ventless machine is slower by design and gentler on clothes because of it. Slower than it was six months ago is the sentence that matters, and that is nearly always the two filters and the condenser.

Where does the water go?

Into a drawer you empty, or out through a hose to the standpipe if it was installed that way. A machine that stops mid-cycle and will not restart is often a full drawer or a kinked hose, and both are worth checking before you book.
