## LG service in South Florida, across the widest line any make in this city sells.

LG builds refrigeration, laundry, dishwashing, cooking and ventilation, and several jobs on this list exist because of things only LG makes — a Direct Drive motor, a WashTower, a ventless heat pump dryer, an InstaView door. Each card says what the work is; the figure beside it is a floor rather than a quote.

46 — jobs with a published figure

6 — jobs no other site in this fleet has

12 — appliance types we cover on this make

from $95 — diagnostic, credited to the repair

## The work in each job, and the floor it starts from

Treat each number as a floor rather than a quote. It reflects what this equipment and this labor go for in South Florida, and what moves it is on the job's own cost page.

No jobs are published yet.

## Direct Drive, WashTower, and a dryer with no duct

Three of the jobs on this list are LG’s own. **Direct Drive** bolts the motor to the drum, which removes the belt and most of what used to wear out on a washing machine — and makes the drive repair larger when it comes. The **WashTower** puts two machines behind one control panel, so the first part of the visit is establishing which half is reporting. And the **ventless heat pump dryer** has no element and no duct at all: it condenses the water out of the air, which is why it can go in a condo laundry closet and why its maintenance is a condenser and a drain rather than a vent.

## Five families that publish, and two that say nothing

LG publishes error code lists for its refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, dryers and cooking ranges, and on the laundry machines with no numeric display it publishes what the blinking indicator lights mean instead. That is more than most makes do and it changes what a first visit is worth. It publishes nothing for range hoods, and its wine cellar reports through the refrigerator control set — so on those two the symptom page is the whole archive and the diagnosis starts from measurement.

## Three minutes that change the visit

The model number, off the appliance

- Refrigerators: inside, on the left wall of the fresh food compartment.
- Washers and dryers: inside the door opening, or on the back panel.
- Ranges and wall ovens: on the frame behind the door, or under the cooktop.
- Dishwashers: on the edge of the door, visible when it is open.

What the machine is reporting

- A code on the display, written down exactly — including the letter in front of it.
- On a refrigerator, hold Freezer Temperature and Express Frz together for three seconds to bring the last code back.
- On a laundry machine with no numbers, count a full blink sequence and photograph it.
- Do not cut the power first. A code that has been reset is information nobody has.

## Or start from the appliance

Twelve cards, and each one says what a repair on that appliance actually involves on this make.

## Several of these end without a part

A refrigerator in **demo mode** is lit, responsive and deliberately not cooling — LG’s own way out is to hold FRIDGE and press Express FRZ three times. An oven showing **5b** is in Sabbath mode and will hold a temperature and ignore its controls. A cooktop showing **H5** is telling you the glass is hot, which is not an error at all. And a dishwasher that has never drained since the day it was fitted is usually a disposal knockout plug nobody removed. We would rather tell you on the phone.

## Questions we are asked about the work

Do you charge for the diagnostic? — Yes, and it comes off the bill if you go ahead, so you pay it once either way. It pays for the diagnosis, which is the work — and on this make it buys more than usual, because the appliance normally has something to say before anything is opened.

Can you quote over the phone? — A range, often, and on LG more usefully than on most: a code or a light pattern plus a model number narrows it a long way. What we will not do is quote a repair nobody has measured.

Do you work on LG SIGNATURE and LG STUDIO? — Yes. They are the same machines with a different finish and, on some models, a longer parts list. The wine cellar on this site is a SIGNATURE product.

How quickly can somebody come? — Usually within a day or two across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. A refrigerator that has stopped cooling and a dryer that is running hot are treated as urgent; a hood that has lost a lamp is not, and we will say which yours is.

## What is different about servicing this make

### Two languages for the same problem

LG appliances with a digital display show a code. Its laundry machines without one blink their indicator lights instead, and LG publishes what those patterns mean. Both are real reports, and on the machines that blink the pattern is the entire diagnosis — it disappears the moment the power is cut, which is why photographing the panel is worth more than any description.

### The prefix is the diagnosis

On refrigeration, LG puts a letter in front of a code to say which part of the machine is complaining. Er dS is the defrost sensor on a single-evaporator cabinet; F dS is the freezer coil of a two-evaporator one and r dS is the refrigerator coil. Writing down the letter with the code is the difference between a diagnosis and a guess.

### Volume, and what it does to a repair

LG is one of the two highest-volume makes on this fleet, and a drain pump, an inlet valve, a bake element or an igniter for one is a stocked item at every supply house in Miami-Dade. That keeps the ordinary repairs on this badge below what the built-in makes cost, and it is why a common failure is usually one visit rather than two.

## The model number, and what the display or the lights are doing.

Those two together are usually enough for us to name a likely part before anybody sets off. If the machine has no display, tell us exactly which lights are blinking.
