# Washer error code E6

### What E6 means on this make

A top loader has a clutch between the motor and the basket, and this code says the machine asked for a spin and the basket did not follow. The symptom is a wash that completes and a spin that does not, leaving a drum of very wet laundry. It is a mechanical part and it is not a kitchen-table repair, but it is a repair rather than a write-off on a machine that is otherwise sound.
